A few weeks ago we wondered how March for Our Lives could have managed to organize almost at once some 800,000 gun-control protesters [only 10% of the marchers were students] in Washington, DC. Equally peculiar was that students apparently had some ‘loose change’ on hand to underwrite the multi-million-dollar budget. Truth be told, it can be safely assumed that high-school students neither planned the event nor took care of the expenditure. Secular anti-gun advocates and media elites did, playing the students as pawns.
Another matter that bears repeating is the question why Christians are closing their eyes rather than confronting the problems, difficulties and obstacles in sustaining America’s freedom. Christians are called for this battle. “It would indeed be strange if we apprehended how that on the one hand Canaan was a free gift unto Israel, which they entered by grace alone; and on the other, that they had to fight for every inch of it!”[1]
It is in the public square where Christians will have to vanquish secular humanism’s all-out attempt to obliterate America’s Judeo-Christian heritage, and once Biblically-based culture [laid down by America’s Founders]. Let us call a spade a spade and notice that Secularism maintains its continuing existence by both hostility toward Christianity and its death grip on public education, universities, and academia. If America is to survive, Christians must untangle pagan Secularism from the warp and woof of society’s fabric, commencing with government-controlled education.
Nothing more clearly exemplifies the religious overturn taking place in the America of the last 60 years than three decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court. Two of the decisions came from the liberal Warren Court: in 1962, Engel v. Vitale [removing prayer from public education] and in 1963, Abington School District v. Schempp [removing the Bible from public education]. Lastly, in 2015, the Justices in Obergefell v. Hodges cooked up a constitutional right to homosexual marriage. Most shamefully, Justices Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who earlier had officiated same-sex weddings, declined to recuse themselves. Both should have been impeached and convicted by Congress.
Now that Natural Law has been drained of all truth by judicial secularists, relativists, and supremacists, good and evil are determined by whatever five secular Supreme Court Justices on any given day can agree upon. By stripping the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God of all meaning, America’s legal foundations have shifted from Biblical law to secular say-so.
With that as background, it won’t be a surprise that barely any articles appeared last week on a Sex Ed Sit Out at public schools. [#SexEdSitOut] “We are sick,” parents declared, “of the sexualization of our children that takes place everyday in the classrooms across our nation. We will pull our kids out of public school on Monday, April 23rd in protest of graphic, gender-bending sex education.” Some parents might have to realize that this is education though, and without this their children could decide to educate themselves on such sexual topics using pornographic content or sexualized material online like these more helpful hints into sex. There’s no definitive way on how sexuality should be taught or learned. Still, parents are facing concern when it comes to the sexual education of their children.
EXHIBIT A
Public school curriculum for girls aged 13 and 14:
“Oral sex, anal sex, sexual fantasy, masturbation, touching each others genitals, and vaginal intercourse all equal to saying, ‘I like you’.”
“In this curriculum [public schools] actually send the kids shopping for condoms. [The students] have an activity worksheet they fill out, front and back. [The students] go to two different stores, compare the brands, prices, lubrication … a few pages later [the curriculum has] a worksheet for kids to go to visit a clinic where [the kids] fill out the address, the things that are offered at the clinic, and the services that are provided at the clinic. On the backside of [the worksheet] they have a place for [the kids] to fill out the bus route so they can avoid parental detection and figure out how to get there on their own.” [www.facebook.com/SitOutProtest/videos/2183613705199157/]
There is no denying that some of the acts mentioned above should only be kept to extremely intimate couples or between actors and actresses on adult content sites like nu-bay.com for example. But the argument is surrounding whether or not school children should be learning about them. Some people think they need to be taught about things like condoms, lubrication and bullet vibrators and other products to aid self-pleasure, whereas others feel this is something they should discover for themselves when they are old enough. It is an age-old debate.
The battle for the Soul of America will not advance until Christians identify, understand, and wipe out the secularist writing on the wall. Secularism was established in 1962-1963 by the secular Warren Court – all the while professing neutrality – with the purpose of dislodging Christianity as society’s cornerstone.
What pastors can do is to become prayer leaders in their own church services and/or to lead a prayer emphasis week, calling for Spiritual Awakening in our own
- cities and towns;
- heart [call for undeserved but much needed mercy];
- home [parents praying over children / husbands over wives];
- church [and prayer for other local churches and pastors by name];
- community [prayers for mayor, city council, school board, et al.];
- run for local office and/ or recruit members of congregation to run. [2]
Thankfully, Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to stand in America. Christians are about to witness that “man’s extremity furnishes the most suitable opportunity for God to display His power.” This is a principle of great importance, for it shows the manner “in which God gets glory to Himself, namely, by driving back that which intercepted their way, putting forth His mighty power on their behalf as ‘the Lord your God’.”[3]
