As Christians, we must take seriously our responsibility to be salt and light in our communities and as American citizens engage in the political processes that shapes the daily operation and destiny of our nation. Our most powerful voice is our dedicated voice of prayer on behalf of one another, our city, state and nation.
Together, we get to choose the leaders that we are subject to (Romans 13:1). The type of leaders we vote for has a big impact on whether people thrive or suffer (Proverbs 28:12; Proverbs 29:2). As such we should register to vote and Biblically discern how we will vote on the issues and candidates presented on election day. (November 5th, 2024)
Keep in mind that voting publicly recognizes that we submit to the authority of the political system in our nation as established by God. (Romans 13:1-7) And, that the act of voting recognizes the equality of all people and their right to speak and be heard. (Deuteronomy 10:17-19). Voting is a privilege not to be taken for granted.
