As temperatures across the nation plunged to sub-zero levels last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Chicago’s Joshalin Rivera spent her mornings inside her 2023 Tesla Model 3, with the heater blasting, waiting in a long line to recharge the battery. “If you’re waiting in that line and you only have 50 miles, you’re not going to make it,” she said, pointing to the line of vehicles stretched out onto Elston Avenue. She had recently witnessed a Tesla run out of battery shortly after its driver attempted to cut the line.1
In normal conditions, Ms. Rivera’s Tesla can drive up to 273 miles on a single 30-minute charge; however, last week she awakened to find about a third of her car battery already drained by the Arctic blast and frigid air that gripped the nation. In reflection, she says she feels a bit of ‘buyer’s remorse’, “It’s kind of like, I don’t really want a Tesla.”
The responsibility for the monumental wasting, or rather misappropriation, of billions and billions of taxpayer dollars on a product that consumers don’t want, lays at the address of President Biden and his radical climate agenda overlords.2 Reuters reported last week that Hertz is selling off about 20,000 of its electric vehicles 2 years after it made a well-hyped deal to offer Tesla vehicles for rent. Hertz announced last week that instead it will purchase gas-powered vehicles signaling an additional decline in the demand for electric vehicles.3
Ford Motor Company also revealed last week that it is “slashing production of its F-150 Lightning truck amid flagging demand. The F-150 Lightning drew oohs and aahs from the press when it was unveiled in May 2021. Yet the electric pickup has been plagued with defects and recalls. It sold a mere 24,165 Lightnings last year and lost roughly $36,000 on each EV in the third quarter.”4
Besides blowing billions on electric cars, add in the $7 billion loss of military equipment abandoned in Biden’s retreat from Afghanistan in 2021, combine that with the administration’s sell-off of nearly half of the U.S. oil reserve [set aside for emergencies] to offset rising fuel prices from bad judgment, giving rise to the immigration Border crisis and chaos, as well as to ballooning deficits and debt, rampant inflation, a Woke Administrative State5, with male staffers sashaying around in pantyhose and high heels6, out-of-control spending, and destructive economic policies, and one doesn’t have to look for the reason for disastrous polling numbers pointing to the removal of Biden from elective office on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
On Election Night, November 3, 2020, Joe Biden pledged in his oratory promising to “lower the temperature, to see each other again, to listen to one another, to hear each other again and respect and care for one another, to unite, to heal, to come together as a nation and stop treating our opponents as enemies.” Not only turned these to be empty words, but the Biden Administration itself has not abide[n]d by any of it.
The Divider-in-Chief signed 17 executive orders on his first day in office, among others:
• Revoking the ban on military service from transgenders [gender dysphoria].
• Reversing the Mexico City Policy to reinstate U.S. taxpayers paying for international abortions.
• Rejoining the Paris Climate Accord.
• Rejoining the World Health Organization.
• Resuming the counting of non-citizens in the U.S. Census.
• Augmenting “special rights” for homosexuals.
• Supervising the collapse of the Border.
• Delivering a body blow to the rights of women and girls by placing girls’ sports and women’s safe spaces in the crosshairs of the administrative state.7
This brings us to the triad of the Democrats’ favorite Evangelicals: 1) Christianity Today’s editor-in-chief Russell Moore; 2) New York Times columnist David French; and 3) “Pro-life Democrat” of Duke Divinity School Curtis Chang; and their ploy for 2024.
Megan Basham, former film and television editor for WORLD, author, and reporter at the Daily Wire tweeted last week, “Did some digging into @drmoore, @DavidAFrench, & Curtis Chang’s Bible study curriculum that teaches Christians how to engage politics. Turns out, it’s funded by major secular left foundations that promote abortion and trans treatments for kids.”8
That’s right, left-wing foundations underwriting the promotion of “rural LGBTQ+ people,” “keeping the remaining fossil fuel resources in the ground,” and “climate justice” are creating Bible study curricula “to teach churches how to engage politics.”
As to Moore and French, Megan Basham writes, “One would be hard-pressed to identify evangelical voices who’ve done more to bring a divisive focus on politics into the pews – all under the pretense of de-escalation and bipartisanship.”
Here’s where it gets interesting: The After Party: Toward Better Christian Politics is the name of Moore, French, and Chang’s project funded by the left-wing Rockefeller Foundation. Their website lists One America Movement as one of its partners. “The group’s board includes the leader of an LGBTQ-affirming synagogue, as well as a co-founder of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York who excuses rioting as self-defense and has called Jesus a ‘black radical revolutionary’. … The Hewlett Foundation, which also directly funds The After Party, is the second largest private donor to Planned Parenthood.”9
Moreover, this non-political project launches in the battleground state of Ohio, the state that had the longest consistent perfect streak of any state in voting for the winning presidential candidate in each election from 1964 to 2016. The streak ended when Joe Biden won in 2020. No Republican has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio.
Rather than toward better Christian politics, Moore, French, and Chang’s pretended project is being funded by a type of Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite found in the Book of Nehemiah. Both are enemies of God, as both hindered Nehemiah’s efforts to rebuild Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile.
Evangelicals will have to take their civic engagement to a whole new level if America is to make it through.
Thankfully Gideons and Rahabs have begun entering the public square of America. They will act as counteracting agents to the deceitful, perfidious Biblical messages of Moore, French, and Chang.
