A conservative political analyst says he is extremely disappointed that two conservative governors being eyed as potential 2016 presidential candidates have given up the fight for traditional marriage.
On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the appeals of five states trying to preserve their statutes that define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. One of those states was Wisconsin, where Gov.Scott Walker (pictured below) is locked in a tough re-election battle.
Walker, who has been touted by conservatives as a 2016 presidential candidate, said, “For us, it’s over in Wisconsin.”
He went on to say that he would rather be talking about jobs.
And in another possible 2016 contender, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence said in a statement he was disappointed by the ruling, adding that while he believes “in the importance of traditional marriage,” he would abide by the rule of law…
