Families looking for decent, family movies are often hard pressed to find much to suit their conservative tastes. But the genre is improving in both quantity and quality. Dave Alan Johnson is a name to remember in the field.
Johnson is executive producer of Summer Snow, the first feature film from American Family Studios. Summer Snow is the story of a family’s grief following a mom’s death. Eight-year-old Hallie is the centerpiece of the story as she struggles with her loss. But at the same time, the remarkable young girl sets out to solve the problems of friends and neighbors around her – often with mixed results and a lot of humor. The movie has a limited theater release in July, and will have its television premiere on UPtv August 17.
