One year ago, on November 7, 2018, a grisly, horrifying mass shooting took place in Thousand Oaks, CA, at Borderline Bar and Grill’s “College Night”. Thirteen people were killed, including the 28-year-old gunman, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Thousand Oaks Mayor Rob McCoy [and pastor of Calvary Chapel Godspeak] pledged that evening: “We’re going to be there every step of the way with these folks. I imagine there’s going to be a lot of funerals, and we’ll be asked to officiate, we’ll be there with these families. And it’s not something that you just do once, you have to be there when you remember their birthdays, and for some it will be anniversaries. It’s going to be a long, hard road.” [twitter.com/ABC/status/1060526963905912832]

And so it was…

Abigail Shrier, a freelance writer on culture, law, politics, parenting, and technology, was featured in a PragerU video on the Borderline massacre. Pointing to a pagan spirituality that has emasculated boys in America over the last 75 years by public school bureaucrats she explains:

“As soon as he heard the shots, [20-year-old Matt] Wennerstrom told ABC News, he knew exactly what was going on. He and some friends grabbed everyone they could and pushed them down behind the pool table, placing their own bodies on top of the girls. One woman, who was celebrating her 21st birthday, told Good Morning America: ‘There were multiple men who got on their knees and pretty much blocked all of us with their back toward the shooter, ready to take a bullet for every single one of us.”

“When the shooter paused to reload, Wennerstrom grabbed a barstool and tossed it through a window. He and his buddies pulled 30 to 35 people to safety. After getting each group safely to the parking lot, Wennerstrom [an Eagle Scout] and his buddies went back for more.”

“The way so many women have a natural ease with caring for children, so many men have the instinct to protect and serve. It is a refined sort of masculinity that must be developed and praised. The military has done this for years. Police academies and fire departments do it too. Only the educated classes have learned to sneer at it thinking that they never need it. However, if you ask, I’d suggest people read more from the experts and keep yourself informed, in case something of this sort happens.”

“There will always be young men like the Thousand Oaks shooter – full of rage, mentally unstable, failing to launch. We can work to eliminate the threat they pose or treat whatever mental disease hobbles them. But we will never stop every evil-doer from obtaining weapons. The extended magazine that enabled the shooter to fire so many rounds is already illegal in California.”

“As many laws as we pass, we will never eradicate evil.”1

With that said, let’s address the origins of the tumorous “political correctness,” a baneful pagan pestilence destroying America’s intellectual, educational, economic, and vocational culture. For additional insight, Political Correctness: A Deceptive and Dangerous Worldview2 provides a must-read for Christians in search of a response to the spiritual lethargy engendered by political correctness acting in conjunction with impious secularism.

The sexularization of America’s little ones, from kindergarten through sixth grade, reflects without any doubt a direct assault on Christianity by the rough-cut religion of political correctness. Its most notable feature is its intolerance for any viewpoint other than its own, “Christians should without delay leave public education, publicly ‘contradicting, denouncing and protesting in the name of God,’ to paraphrase A.W. Tozer, to what is being done to America’s children by government-run education bureaucrats.”3

“God’s voice rings out with orders for a state of war to be declared,” wrote Leslie C. Allen in his commentary on the Book of Joel.4

In Joel 3:9-10 it says: “Proclaim this among the nations: ‘Prepare for a holy war! Call out the warriors! Let all these fighting men approach and attack! Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears! Let the weak say, ‘I too am a warrior!'”

Elaborating on political correctness, Dan Smithwick of the Nehemiah Institute argues that “it is a tyrannical worldview called by various names such as neo-Marxism, transitional Marxism, transformational Marxism, and cultural Marxism. This atheistic worldview is pervasive in our homes, in many churches, in almost all media, in K-20 education, in business and the local, state and national civil governments. It is not politics but effects politics in a very profound way; centralized state government is one of its primary idols. It impacts our culture including the family, church, state, community, and commerce. It’s a full-fledged worldview that constitutes a vicious spiritual war that few believers have been prepared to fight. This book [Political Correctness: A Deceptive and Dangerous Worldview] provides the armor for you to contend for Truth and stand against the schemes of the devil.”

Denouncing the desecrate propagandism and the subversion of America’s social order by ‘political correctness’, Raymond Victor Raehn [1924-2016] writes: “To achieve this, the Critical Theorists of the Frankfurt School recognized that traditional beliefs and the existing social structure would have to be destroyed and then replaced. The patriarchal social structure would be replaced with matriarchy; the belief that men and women are different and properly have different roles would be replaced with androgyny; and the belief that heterosexuality is normal would be replaced with the belief that homosexuality is equally ‘normal.’

“Political Correctness is not at all about ‘being nice,’ unless one thinks gulags are nice places. Political Correctness is Marxism, with all that implies: Loss of freedom of expression, thought control, inversion of the traditional social order, and, ultimately, a totalitarian state. If anything, the cultural Marxism created by the Frankfurt School is more horrifying than the old, economic Marxism that ruined Russia. At least the economic Marxists did not exalt sexual perversion and attempt to create a matriarchy, as the Frankfurt School and its descendants have done.”

Abigail Shrier concludes her PragerU presentation by saying: “Masculinity is a style of behavior, not a code of conduct. It can be used for great good and it can be perverted into evil. One of the most important tasks of a moral society must be to make boys into good men.

“If we continue to disparage the male impulse to act heroically – if we mock those who want to protect women – we will fail in our task. Yet many seem bent on doing just that, especially in our institutions of higher education. Fortunately, Matt Wennerstrom and his friends missed the lecture that young women don’t require male protection. Thank God they did.”
