“Come celebrate Black History month together from 1pm to 4pm, on Saturday, February 25th at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center in Wilmington.“
We absolutely celebrated Black History month together at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center in Wilmington.
This ‘Festival of Hope’ was truly an amazing event with a variety of activities and resources for all community members! Nearly 200 were able to participate in the no-charge, ‘fresh start’ expungement clinic and job fair; therein beginning the process of clearing criminal records and setting sail towards better employment and housing opportunities. Hundreds more participated in gathering free bags full of groceries, and new, winter wear, clothing put a smile on many attendees’ faces. Also present were numerous local resource agencies.
The grand finale, free soul food dinner was a delightful way to bring the community together; and all the while fresh Gospel music provided and enriching atmosphere for all attendees.
The Festival of Hope, Wilmington was a great success that brought joy, opportunity and positivity to all who attended.
